Narkanda-Hatu: ride in the clouds..

This trip was special as it was my only trip with Asad, the person who introduced me to this world of touring.. It was a simple weekend ride to enjoy the hills during rains . We left Saturday morning for Narkanda. I met Asad at Dhaula Kuan.. First stop was Haveli at Karnal.. Asad.. When we reached the hills, it had just rained. It looked as if the mountains had just been painted green.. We stopped many times for photos.. Soon the clouds started moving in.. It was like a fairy tale.. View of Shimla.. Soon we were driving in the clouds.. We reached Narkanda by sun down. The hotel at the bus stand was full. We managed to get a room under it. Last few kilometres we had ridden in the rain. We were cold and drenched.. Next day morning we rode up the Hatu peak. This is a 7kms drive in which one goes from a height of 2700mtr at Narkanda to 3400mtrs at Hatu top. It was a narrow steep road. 2 cars couldn't have passed each other. But with the bikes we dint have any issue. Anyways it was early morning so we dint get much traffic.

The whole road was also covered with clouds. As we reached the top.. The board on the top.. The 2 of us and the view of the valley behind us (!!!).. It was so clouded that we couldn't see anything in the valley.. So we posed for a few shots with the clouds and started back.. Greenery and clouds on the way back.. Soon we were back on the main highway. The clouds cleared up a bit and we rode back faster.. Asad riding a corner.. We reached Delhi late at night..
