Lahual and Spiti : ooh, aah, ouch...

In the second week of june 2008, a group of riders set out to do the Lahual & Spiti circuit. Lahual & Spiti are 2 a remote Himalayan valleys in the north of Himachal Pradesh near the China border. They have very less population and hence is untouched by the "modernization". I was preparing myself for a peaceful getaway in the lap of nature away from the hussle-bustle of the big cities. This circuit is also one of the most technically challenging circuits for a biker. Many parts of the route have no roads and others offer varying terrains for offroading. Some places there is gravel, someplace riverbed stones, other places the sharp stones from landslides. So on the whole it was going to be one difficult (and obviously fun) trip.
